There is a multitude of military spouse bloggers in the world. I don’t know the vast majority of them. But there are a few women I have come to appreciate and who have been a source of encouragement to my heart. I’d like to highlight one of these military spouses today.
Chasing Blue Skies is a blog written by Kristen Strong. Here is an excerpt from her About page (used by permission):
I’ve been married to my man, David, for 17 years. David is in the Air Force, which means our whole family serves. I write about military life here and there, including this article on how to love on your military neighbors and friends.
Kristen writes with openness, honesty, humor, and depth. Her topics center around military life, friendships, parenting, encouragement, personal spiritual growth, and ministry to women. I’m always excited when I see a new article from her in my inbox because I know that I’ll be blessed, heartened, and challenged.
She also wrote a book!
Your husband bravely and faithfully serves his country, and as a military wife your own service is no less remarkable. But who serves you as you live out your calling as a military wife?
An e-book written for military wives, Serving You blends solid biblical truths with relevant, personal military life stories giving the military wife confidence in her calling while strengthening her heart for the demands this lifestyle requires. (from Amazon)
I have this book–and I have read it–and if you are a military wife, you need to buy this book. If you are not a military wife, you need to buy it for any friends you have who are married to a man in the military. Seriously, folks, it’s that good.
I have learned much from Kristen. Her experiences and her heart and words have given me hope and help on many occasions. I hope you take the opportunity to visit Chasing Blue Skies and get to know her beautiful self.
